Casting a line or two in hope of a poem.
Long ago we abandonedthe Jewish carpenter.Strangely he still has powerto lend force to uncertain wordsas we strengthen a pointwith a slap to his face. Jesus bloody Christ.
Lol, I was oft told as a child, not to blaspheme, and then usually slapped/smacked...not bad for a non-religious family...
Blasphemy makes we wonder if there will come a time when using the name of Christ will be merely quaint and ridiculous, like "by Jove", or is there something else going on, as I do believe. I would have thought Western indifference to Christ might have brought us to that point already. Interesting (admirable!) that your family, inconsequential, made that stand.
I think it was reflex. All my Grand parents were religious. My parents kinda represent a first generation of not necessarily non religious, but certainly non active, so I think they merely reacted to a lifetime of conditioning....bless them :)they know not what they do.....:)
